Worship
Worship
is the heart of our community’s existence. Through it the Church
brings us together, inspires us and teaches us to live as Christ did.
We gather to praise God, to remember the life and ministry of Jesus,
to pray and to learn.
We invite you to be with us each Sunday as we lift our hearts, minds, and voices to the living God. Each worship service offers a different orientation to hear the Word of the Lord. We hope you will join us, building up the Spirit that reconciles, loves, guides, and empowers us in Christ.

At Sunday services the general tone is respectful but informal, tending toward the middle ground between high and low ceremony. We use Rite II almost exclusively.
The 8:00 am early service is contemplative and has no music. A loyal group of 12 to 14 attends nearly every week. They enjoy the quiet, thoughtful time of worship.
10:00 is our traditional service with choir and organ, coupled with some contemporary music compiled over the years from various songbooks. For about twelve years, we have been fortunate to enjoy the services of our Music Minister Sara Banta, a professor of music at Pepperdine University. Under her direction we often enjoy classical liturgical music and concerts featuring professional musicians and voice majors from her Choral Scholars Program.
