Sunday School News

Oh, how I love these autumn months! Fall harvest is such a wonderful time of year and an opportunity to celebrate the abundance (of love, faith, community...) in our lives. Plus, there are so many fun holidays and celebrations during this time. The kids are excited, and SO AM I!

Finally, I extend a heartfelt invitation to all parishioners to give of yourselves to the Youth and Family Ministry as a teacher for the "new and improved" Sunday School. I have taken care of the planning and organizing, now all I need is your willingness and time (a couple of Sundays here and there throughout the year). You might be thinking: "But church is my one opportunity to worship and praise during the week, and teaching Sunday School might interfere with that!"

Lisa says: “I totally get it! I thought I would be giving up my worship time as well by taking this position. Boy, was I wrong! Not only is worship a part of our mornings, but there is a freshness and inspiration that comes from sharing my Christian faith and God's love with these beautiful kids on Sundays. And it's only a handful of Sundays a year.

Or, maybe you’re thinking: "I'm not a teacher... I wouldn't know what to do!"

Lisa says: “That's what I'm here for! I've got the curriculum, organization and planning DONE FOR YOU (a teacher's dream, by the way). All you need is the desire to TRY SOMETHING NEW and the willingness to share your unique self with these young ones!”

Sunday School is so much more than childcare during church. Just as our spiritual journeys have evolved over the years, these young people have a spiritual journey that is just beginning; now we have the unique opportunity to contribute to it in a powerful way. So take the plunge and JOIN ME in this ADVENTURE! Find me after church, shoot me an email, give me a call..whatever you're comfortable with. Even if it's just to ask a few questions. I promise it will be one of the best experiences of your life!

Peace, love and many blessings,

Lisa Devine
